Membership Fees

Becoming a member of The Swords of Notting Hill isn't just about joining a club; it's about becoming part of the vibrant world of fencing! Our membership provides a comprehensive package, ensuring your child has everything they need to learn, grow, and compete safely.

What is Included in Your Membership?

Your The Swords of Notting Hill membership fee is structured to provide seamless access to all essential aspects of fencing. It covers:

1. British Fencing (BF) Registration & Benefits

Every fencer at The Swords of Notting Hill is required to register directly with British Fencing (BF), the sport's national governing body in the UK. This isn't just a formality; it provides crucial benefits:

  • Essential Insurance Coverage: Your child will be covered by British Fencing's comprehensive liability insurance, which is vital for participation in any fencing activity. This ensures peace of mind for both fencers and parents.

  • Access to Competitions: A valid BF membership is mandatory for your child to enter any official fencing competitions (local, regional, or national). Without it, they cannot participate in these events.

Please note: The annual British Fencing membership fee is a separate charge, paid directly to British Fencing, and is not included in your The Swords of Notting Hill club fees.

2. Group Fencing Lessons with Expert Coaching

This is the heart of your child's fencing journey with us! Your club membership includes:

  • Regular Group Classes: Access to our scheduled group fencing lessons, tailored to different age groups and skill levels (from beginners learning the basics to more advanced fencers refining their technique).

3. Essential Equipment Rental

To ensure your child can start fencing immediately and safely, your membership fees also include:

  • Assigned Equipment Set: Each child will be provided with their own assigned set of essential fencing equipment for the duration of their membership.

  • Weapon Provision: The appropriate fencing weapon for their class will also be provided for use during each session.

  • Safety First: For safety and security reasons, all fencing weapons must be left at the club at the end of each session and will be stored securely by our staff.

  • Equipment Guarantee: While the use of club equipment is included in your membership, all members utilizing club-provided gear are required to comply with our Equipment Policy. This essential policy outlines your responsibilities for the careful use and return of equipment at the end of the lessons.

The Swords of Notting Hill club fees:

Membership fee = price per session * Number of session per term

Group 1: £27 per session.

Group 2: £30 per seesion

Group 3: £34 per session

Payement method: payment by payment link

4. Membership Duration & Renewal

Memberships are to be renewed on a termly basis. You'll be notified of renewal procedures before your current membership period ends.

5. Strict Cancellation & Refund Policy

Due to the limited number of places in our classes and our commitment to maintaining optimal fencer-to-coach ratios, our cancellation and refund policy is strict:

  • No Membership Cancellation: Once membership is purchased, no cancellation is possible for the chosen commitment period (term).

  • No Refunds for Missed Lessons: No refunds or compensation will be provided for lessons missed by the child, regardless of the reason (e.g., illness, holidays, personal commitments). Payment secures the child's place in the program, not their attendance at every single session.

  • Club-Initiated Cancellations: In the exceptional event that a session or class is cancelled by the club (e.g., due to coach unavailability or facility issues), the club will endeavour to offer a make-up session or, failing that, a credit for a future session. No refunds will be offered for cancellations due to circumstances beyond the club's control (force majeure).
